April is Hypoxic Ischemic Encephalopathy (HIE) Awareness Month!
As a Cleveland-based personal injury law firm with a record of fighting for victims and families following preventable birth injuries, The Becker Law Firm would like to express our support for HIE Awareness Month – and spread the word that no family has to face HIE alone.
A global campaign intended to build awareness and support, HIE Awareness Month is coordinated by Hope for HIE. Since it was first founded on Facebook in 2010, Hope for HIE, run solely by volunteers, has grown into a worldwide network serving thousands of parents and families looking for resources and connections after their child has been diagnosed with hypoxic ischemic encephalopathy.
2019 HIE Awareness Month
The theme for this year’s HIE Awareness Month – Hope Never Ends – aligns with the network’s mission to promote education, support, and awareness for HIE. Hope for HIE is encouraging everyone who wants to get involved to share some of its many downloadable tools and social posts with their friends, families, and online communities.
You can get involved by:
- Visiting the Hope Never Ends Campaign webpage to download and customize various tools and campaign resources you can share on social media, or use as talking points in your posts and other online activities.
- Taking photos of yourself and / or your loved ones showing what HOPE looks like, and sharing them online on sites like Facebook (where Hope for HIE began), Instagram, or Twitter.
- Using the tag #HOPEneverends to engage in the HIE community, make connections, and spread the word on HIE-related posts!
With a press release, FAQ, Talking Points you can download, and printable resources you can use for offline purposes, Hope for HIE has made it easy to show your support! Visit the HIE Awareness Month page by clicking here.
A Firm Committed to Fighting for Families
The Becker Law Firm has served many victims and families throughout Ohio and beyond after preventable injuries – including birth injuries resulting from negligence and medical malpractice before, during, and after childbirth. Having helped numerous clients through these difficult times and complex legal proceedings – and recovering record-setting results and millions of dollars in verdicts and settlements on their behalves – we know just how overwhelming a serious diagnosis like HIE can be.
Whether mild, moderate, or severe, an HIE diagnoses can strike fear upon parents – many of whom face concerns about the physical and emotional well-being of their children, their futures, and their ability to financially support the needs of their kids as they grow and mature.
Our part in the puzzle means working with families amid the aftermath of medical malpractice. During this process, we leverage our experience and extensive resources to help clients understand their rights under the law, and how to best approach a birth injury lawsuit against the at-fault parties. We take pride in being able to help families secure the justice and compensation they deserve – and in being part of a larger support system and community that so often makes the difference when it matters most.
If you have a potential case to discuss, call (440) 252-4399 or complete an online case review form to speak with an attorney from The Becker Law Firm. Free and confidential consultations are available to clients throughout Ohio.
