Attorney Romney Cullers Files Wrongful Death Suit Over Ohio Camp Drowning of 12-Year-Old Boy
Firm Partner Romney Cullers and The Becker Law Firm have filed a wrongful death lawsuit on behalf of the family of a 12-year-old boy who drowned while attending an overnight summer camp in Lakeview, Ohio.
The lawsuit, filed on December 26, 2018 in The Summit County Court of Common Pleas, concerns the July 25th death of a 12-year-old Pickerington boy. As the claim notes, the boy had been attending a four-day residential basketball program at the Round Lake Christian Camp in Lakeville when he drowned.
Mr. Cullers was quoted by The Daily Record and The Columbus Dispatch, indicating that the firm’s objective is to hold all responsible parties accountable, and pursue justice and compensation for the family’s considerable emotional suffering. The lawsuit names the Round Lake Christian Assembly and six camp employees as defendants, and alleges the boy’s death resulted directly from the negligent and reckless actions of the camp and several staff members.
According to officials and the Ashland County Coroner’s investigators, the child was taking a swimming test at the time of his drowning. Though lifeguards were reportedly on duty, his body was not recovered until authorities and a dive team arrived on site.
